New York Governor Kathy Hochul Pushes For Vaccine Mandate Among Healthcare Workers

New York Governor Kathy Hochul had already announced a vaccine mandate for healthcare workers. Workers who don’t want to take the vaccine will have to give samples regularly for testing. Moreover, Hochul’s mandate has not gone down well with healthcare workers with many threatening to quit the job. This could create a lot of pressure on the healthcare sector which is already struggling due to the rising number of COVID cases. Moreover, Hochul said, “I hope I don’t have to say it again because it would be phenomenally unfair to your coworkers, the people entrusted in your care. And all of New Yorkers that we will have our recovery held back by individuals who choose not to get vaccinated.”

Governor Kathy Hochul Criticizes People Who Haven’t Taken The Vaccine Yet

Hochul thinks it is not right that there are still people who haven’t taken a single dose of the vaccine. Many poor countries are waiting for the vaccine and people in New York are refusing to take the vaccine. Hochul criticized these people and said, “When we finally have this life-saving vaccine that in other parts of the world, people are clamoring for, we have it here and shame on us if we don’t take advantage of it.”
