Homicide detectives investigating after homeless man, 64, found gravely injured on Barrio Logan street

Murder investigators are investigating a 64-year-old homeless man after being found seriously injured on Barrio Logan Street early Thursday.

Shortly after 3:15 am when he found the man on the sidewalk on National Avenue near Sigsby Street, workers in the area called 911.

“He seemed to be bleeding,” murder lieutenant Matt Dobbs told OnSceneTV.

A police officer arrived to find a man with obvious trauma to his upper body.

According to Dobbs, the victim held his breath, took life-saving measures until the doctor rushed him to the hospital, and died shortly after arriving at the hospital. His name has not been published.

“At this time, there are no witnesses or information about what happened to the death of the man,” said the lieutenant.

Murder agents have little information about what happened to the man and are looking for surveillance videos and witnesses.
