Jada Pinkett Reveals She Was Mom-Shamed When Willow Smith Cut Her Hair

Jada Pinkett and Willow Smith discussed mom-shaming in the previous episode of Red Table Talk. During the episode, Jada revealed that she got a lot of criticism as a mother when Willow cut her and became completely bald. She said, “I have had my fair share of mom-shaming. With Willow, I think the first time I got hardcore criticism, when you first cut your hair, there was a firestorm.”

Jada Pinkett Reveals Willow Smith Found A Sense Of Freedom In Cutting Her Hair

Jada was okay with the criticism she was receiving as the outcome was worth it. She could see her daughter feeling liberated when the hair fell to the ground. Willow has been different from her brother Jaden and has always believed in breaking stereotypes. Moreover, Jada said, “I have had my fair share of mom-shaming. With Willow, I think the first time I got hardcore criticism, when you first cut your hair, there was a firestorm.”

Jada felt like Willow was doing the right thing by cutting her hair. In fact, she found the freedom in Willow’s eyes as priceless. As per Jada, and rightfully so, there was nothing wrong with Willow cutting her hair. She said, “Me as a mom looking at that, experiencing that with her, there’s nothing anyone could say to me to tell me that it was wrong. Not one person, because I was there, I was looking at her, I saw her face, I knew the journey she and I took together to get to that point. It didn’t matter what anybody said.”
