Keith Urban reportedly fell out with another opera lover when a man “hit” his wife Nicole Kidman with his show after watching The Merry Widow.

Keith Urban, 53, stepped in to protect his 53-year-old wife, Nicole Kidman, right after a man allegedly took an untimely move against her at the Sydney Opera House last month. The singer first exchanged words with the man and actress behind him after he got angry at them for standing up to applaud at the end of Merry Widow’s performance, The Sydney Morning Herald reported. Although Keith apparently explained that he and Nicole gave the show a standing ovation to show their appreciation, the man continued to crush Nicole with his show, the publication reported.

This action reportedly led Keith to accuse the man of attacking the Cold Mountain star and quickly called security to escort him, Nicole and Nicole’s mother, Janelle, who was also with them, out of the house. Opera security then continued to escort the man.

The consequences of the incident did not end there. Nicole was clearly upset about the situation, and in the end, someone called the police about the man. Police confirmed that the Sydney Police Department had been summoned to opera for opera that night, according to The Sydney Morning Herald, according to The Sydney Morning Herald.

“They told police that a 53-year-old man and a 67-year-old man were visiting the entertainment centre when the dispute broke out. The officers spoke to both men and no further action was taken, ”New South Wales police told the Sydney Morning Herald.

Once the drama died down, Opera Australia boss Lyndon Terracini led Nicole and Keith to the back of the house and through the secure stage door so they could pose with the show’s star Virgilio Marino. The two looked relaxed as they posed with masks in a photo shared by Lyndon.

Although it used to be considered rude to stand in the opera, times have changed and it is now considered less taboo. Nicole and Kate attended the opera after the former ended her mandatory quarantine when she returned to Land Down Under from Ireland, where she starred in a Robert Eggers project with Ethan Hawke and Alexander Skarsgard.
