San Diego (Border report) — Monya Mitchell hasn’t seen her son for four months.
On Wednesday, she stood on the pedestrian bridge at the entrance to San Isidro and looked south at the city of Tijuana, wondering if her son was somewhere.
According to Mitchell, his son, Demond Mitchell, who lives in Escondido, California, about 45 minutes north of the border, traveled to Tijuana with a woman he had just met, but never returned home.
Monya Mitchell accused the woman of inviting her son to Mexico. She refuses to say anything when the woman returns to the United States and says she can no longer be found anywhere.
“It’s anxious,” said Monya Mitchell. “One of the things I’ve found is that there are so many missing people in Mexico … it seems to be an area where people can be seduced and harmed.”
She says she’s receiving a text message from her son’s phone, but I’m sure Demond isn’t sending the text.
“Get the $ 300 Vanilla Visa Gift Card. I’ll pick it up and go home,” she said. “Anyone who has his phone is blackmailing his contacts, not just me.”
Mitchell, who lives in San Diego, says he is in contact with Tijuana and Escondido police, but nothing is known so far.
The Border Report contacted Escondido police to determine if Mitchell was in Mexico and was able to work with investigators south of the border on the case of such a missing person, so her mother was the U.S. Consulate in Tijuana. Said that he guided to.
“If something happens, I just want to know if he’s hurt, if he’s in Mexico, if he’s hurt, and where it happened. He’s tempted there and it’s clear that I need help.” she said. “This is a great cry for help. I just plead with the masses. I know it’s intolerable and my son just disappeared.”
Mitchell says he is in the process of hiring a private detective in Mexico and will visit Tijuana’s coroner’s office to see if his son’s body was brought in.
