2. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

Ryan Coogler wanted Chadwick Boseman to play the main role in “Black Panther 2,” but the actor died suddenly in the summer of 2020, so Coogler had to rewrite the script. Boseman won’t be replaced in the sequel, about whose plot we don’t know anything. “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” will have all of the main actors from Coogler’s groundbreaking movie from 2018. Dominique Thorne will make her Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) debut as Riri Williams, aka Ironheart, an inventor who makes a suit of armor to compete with Tony Stark’s Iron Man. It is also the New Marvel Movies 2022 that people are most excited about. Thorne will be in the Disney+ show “Ironheart” after “Black Panther 2.”
3. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania

Peyton Reed, who directed the first two “Ant-Man” movies, is back in charge of the third one, which won’t come out for another year. The plot of the movie is a secret, but the title suggests that it will go deeper into the quantum realm seen in “Ant-Man and the Wasp,” where Michelle Pfeiffer’s character, Janet van Dyne, was lost for 30 years. In the last episode of the Disney+ show “Loki,” fans saw a different version of Kang the Conqueror, played by Jonathan Major. The movie also has a part for Bill Murray.
4. The Marvels

“The Marvels,” the follow-up to “Captain Marvel,” is directed by Nia DaCosta. Meghan McDonnell wrote the screenplay for “The Marvels.” As the name suggests, the movie brings together Brie Larson’s superheroes with other heroes from the MCU, such as Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris) from “WandaVision” and Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel (Iman Vellani) from the Disney+ show “Ms. Marvel.“
5. I AM GROOT (SERIES)
- Premiere Date: August 10, 2022
I am Groot will be a series of animated shorts, as Feige said at the Disney Investor Day presentation in December 2020, about Baby Groot trying to get back to his homeworld, Planet X. There will be “several new and unusual characters,” but it’s not clear if the other Guardians will show up in some way. The scripts that Kirsten Lepore used to direct were written by Ryan Little. The animation is said to look like a photograph, and work on it began in August 2021. It is one of the most popular New Marvel Movies 2022.
It’s not clear how these short animated movies will fit into the larger Marvel story. If they can’t move the story forward in big ways, they might be able to make the characters more interesting or add something important to the universe, like The Living Tribunal or the Beyonder.
6. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

So far, we know that the Guardians of the Galaxy 3 movie was supposed to start shooting in early 2019. But the writer and director of the movie, James Gunn, was fired last fall after some bad jokes he made on Twitter years ago were found. People didn’t know that Gunn kept meeting with Disney executives even after he started working on The Suicide Squad for DC and wrote and directed it. I am Groot and will be in this movie, which is one of the New Marvel Movies 2022.
In March 2019, it was announced that Gunn would be brought back to direct the movie. The original release date of 2020 was pushed back, and production won’t start until Gunn is done with The Suicide Squad, but Marvel Studios kept Gunn’s finished script. So he can finish the trilogy the way he wanted to. From November 2021 to May 2022, the movie was filmed. Daniela Melchior from The Suicide Squad will play a role that hasn’t been revealed yet.
We know from Thor: Love and Thunder that the group includes Star-Lord, Drax, Groot, Rocket, Nebula, Mantis, and Kraglin. At the end of this year, there will be a holiday special that will air before the official movie comes out. Gunn has said that the special, which takes place between Love and Thunder and Vol. 3, is essential to the current MCU story. The special takes place between Love and Thunder and Vol. 3.
7. Fantastic Four

What we already know: In December 2020, Marvel announced that Jon Watts, who directed Spider-Man: Homecoming, Spider-Man: Far from Home, and the upcoming third Spider-Man movie, will direct a brand-new reboot of Fantastic Four to bring the characters into the MCU. We saw John Krasinski as Reed Richards in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, but it’s still not clear who could play Reed Richards in the 616 universes.
But Watts quit as director in April 2022, so it’s not clear what will happen to the movie.
8. Blade

- Cast: Mahershala Ali and Delroy Lindo
The MCU remake of “Blade” doesn’t have a release date yet, but it does have a star and a director. The day-walking vampire will be played by Mahershala Ali, who has won an Oscar. The script for the movie was written by Stacy Osei-Kuffour, and Bassam Tariq will direct it.
9. Deadpool 3

- Cast: Ryan Reynolds
Since Disney bought Fox, the R-rated “Deadpool” movies are almost ready to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The director will be Shawn Levy, who was in charge of “The Adam Project” and “Free Guy.” Sisters Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin wrote the original script for the movie. However, the original “Deadpool” writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are now writing the script.
10. Captain America 4

Even though this one hasn’t been officially announced yet, it was said in April 2021 that Captain America 4 is in the early stages of development. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier showrunner Malcolm Spellman and another Falcon and the Winter Soldier writer, Dalan Musson, are writing the script together. Anthony Mackie would be in the movie. He took over as Captain America at the end of the Disney+ show. It is also the New Marvel Movies 2022 that people are most excited about.
In July 2022, Julius Onah was hired as the director. His other books are The Cloverfield Paradox and Luce.
11. Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings 2

The second part of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings was announced in December 2021. Destin Daniel Cretton, who directed the first movie, will be back to write and direct the second one. We don’t know much about the story or where Shang-Chi will go, but the end credits suggest that it might have something to do with how his father got his Ten Rings. It goes without saying that Simu Liu is back as the main character. Even though it hasn’t been said for sure, it’s likely that Menger Zhang will come back as Xu Xialing now that she is the new leader of the Ten Rings group.
12. SPIDER-MAN 4
- Release Date: July 26, 2024 (our guess)
We know that Marvel Studios and Sony are already making a fourth Spider-Man movie for the MCU. It had only been a few hours since Spider-Man: No Way Home came out in theaters. In fact, No Way Home producer Amy Pascal said in early December that a second trilogy was in the works, but Sony Pictures CEO Tom Rothman walked that back at the film’s premiere in Los Angeles. Still, the end of No Way Home shows that Peter Parker (Tom Holland) will be important in the next part. He still needs to clear Spider-name Man’s and get his life back on track. Also, that piece of Venom that was left in Mexico…
The project will come out in July 2024 as a tribute to the first two MCU Spider-Man movies. But since No Way Home did well at Christmas and Sony has its own release schedule, it’s possible that Spider-Man will stick to a holiday release and something else will take the slot.
13. Untitled Thunderbolts Movie

Not much is known about the Thunderbolts movie. It’s a well-known place to start. People who don’t want to be heroes work with bad guys to do jobs for the government. It makes me think of the movie Suicide Squad a little bit. Jake Schreier, who directed “Paper Towns,” and Eric Pearson, who wrote the script, started working on the movie in June 2022. Pearson is also well-known for writing the scripts for the movies Thor: Ragnarok and Black Widow.
Around the middle of 2023, they should start shooting. Who plays the parts? If it’s anything like the comics, there might be a lot of fan favorites. This includes Baron Zemo (Daniel Brühl), Abomination (Tim Roth), Taskmaster (Olga Kurylenko), US Agent (Wyatt Russell), and the new fan favorite, Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh).
New Marvel Movies 2022 Series
1. SHE-HULK: ATTORNEY AT LAW (SERIES)
- Premiere Date: August 17, 2022
Feige said Bruce Banner is no longer the only Hulk in the MCU. She-Hulk is a fan favorite, and the Disney+ show will be about Bruce’s cousin Jennifer Walters. The head of Marvel said, “She’s a Hulk and she’s a lawyer.” Even though it was the last series to be announced at the 2019 D23 Expo, it was also one of the quickest to come together. Head writer Jessica Gao, who has worked on Rick and Morty before and whose appointment suggests the show will be funnier, director Cat Coiro, and star Tatiana Maslany, who will join the show in September 2020, have all agreed to work on it.
At the Disney Investor Day Presentation in December 2020, Feige said that Maslany would be the star. He also said that Mark Ruffalo will play The Hulk and Tim Roth will play The Abomination. In November 2021, a Disney+ Day sizzle reel will show the first look at Maslany as Jennifer and the first look at the CGI. She-Hulk, and the relationship between the main character and her cousin Bruce. Disney finally put out a full trailer for the show in May of the following year. It changed the name to what it is now and showed that Jennifer’s main job will be to protect The Abomination while her cousin shows her how to be a Hulk. Benedict Wong (as the Sorceror Supreme), Josh Segarra, and Jon Bassa will also be in the nine episodes.
2. SECRET INVASION (SERIES)

What We Know: Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and Talos (Ben Mendelsohn) will deal with a group of bad-intentioned Skrulls who are hiding on Earth and trying to get into “every level of life on Earth.” In September 2020, the show was first talked about as an unnamed Nick Fury project. But calling it Secret Invasion is a clear reference to the original Secret Invasion comic book event series, which Feige called “the biggest” since Civil War. The show will be put together by Kyle Bradstreet.
In April 2021, it was announced that Olivia Colman from “The Crown” and Emilia Clarke from “Game of Thrones” would be joining the cast. Since both of them have played royalty in other popular shows, rumors about their roles immediately focused on the Skrull Empress Veranke, who is the main bad guy in the Secret Invasion comic book storyline. But it’s not clear yet who they’ll play.

It will show one of the possible Phase 4 stories we’ve been talking about since the end of the Endgame. Still, we have to wonder if this is the threat that Fury has been building a space fleet to fight or if the Skrull invasion is something else. This worry will grow with every new show and movie that comes out until Secret Invasion comes out.
3. LOKI SEASON 2 (SERIES)
- Premiere Date: Late 2023 (Our Guess)
What We Know: At the Disney Upfront presentation in May 2022, Fiege said that the cast of Loki would soon get back together to film the second season of the show. Hiddleston, Wilson, Mbatha-Raw, Di Martino, and Mosaku are all back as Loki faces whatever happened to the Time Variance Authority after Sylvie (Di Martino) killed He Who Remains (Johnathan Majors). We’ll assume for now that Majors will be a different version than Kang.
Immortus perhaps? Eric Martin takes over as head writer from Michael Waldron, and Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead take over from Kate Herron as directors of the middle episodes of Moon Knight. Eugene Cordero said that he will also be back in June 2022.
How it fits into the MCU: If Immortus is the version on the TVA statues in the Season 1 finale, he might be a better person than even He Who Remains. It’s not likely, but it can’t be ruled out either. No one is sure what this means for Kang. In the meantime, we think Loki will figure out that there is a problem between all possible realities and ask his brother for help.
4. ECHO (SERIES)
- Premiere Date: Late 2023 (Our Guess)
Echo, who made her first appearance in Disney+’s Hawkeye, will have her own show in March 2021. The show is written by Etan Cohen and Emily Cohen, who are also the show’s executive producers. Alaqua Cox is back as the deaf assassin who can learn to fight like her opponents. In the story, she leaves New York to find the parts of her family that are Native American. Of course, something new comes up that makes that get-together impossible. During the Disney+ Day announcements in November 2021, Marvel said that the show would be made, and work on it began in May 2022.
The movie also has parts for Chaske Spencer, Tantoo Cardinal, Devery Jacobs, Cody Lightning, Graham Greene, and Zahn McClarnon. The people in charge of directing are Catriona McKenzie and Sydney Freeland. People said that Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio would join the show in July 2022. It was also said that Cox’s character, Daredevil, would be looking for an old friend, who could be Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter).
Echo’s story starts after what happened in Hawkeye and may lead right into the plans for the Contessa (Julia Louis-Dreyfus). Echo’s ability to imitate sounds like something she would want on her team. Also, the way she broke up with her uncle Wilson Fisk (D’Onofrio) makes it likely that he will return to her life and the MCU. The character has been in comics with Moon Knight and Daredevil, so she has a lot of potential to work with other characters.

With Ms. Marvel coming to an end, Thor: Love and Thunder doing well, and the New Marvel Movies 2022 on the way, there are big plans for the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
