A Diwali-themed animation has been adorning the One World Trade Center, a symbol of New York City’s eternal kindness, for the first time ever. The animation began on November 2nd at 6 p.m. local time and ran till November 4th.
It was dubbed the “All-American Diwali Experience” and featured a stunning fireworks display that could be seen from both sides of the Hudson!
The Durst Organization’s Mark Domino remarked, “We are pleased to construct and arrange the colorful images of Diwali on the WTC platform to transmit the messages of peace, love, and unity.”
“There is no better symbol of resiliency than the World Trade Center, and we are incredibly fortunate to work with The Durst Organization to communicate this message to all,” said Rahul Walia, South Asian Engagement Foundation’s Founding Trustee.
The All-American Diwali event was devoted to the country’s first responders and was organized by the non-profit South Asian Engagement Foundation of New Jersey.
With One World Trade Center as the backdrop, the NYPD held a ceremonial Color Guard.
Mary Millben, an American singer/actress, also sang the national song of the United States and a verse from the classic Diwali hymn Om Jai Jagdish Hare.

NYPD Desi President, Det. Annand Narayan CrossTower, a crypto exchange, and Atlanta-based 27th Investments, a national investment firm, are among the key sponsors of the ‘All American Diwali’ festival. EQ Factor, Touchdown Media, and Kawan Foods are among the Indiaspora’s community patrons and supporters. The animation was inspired by Indian-American artist Varun Patel of Vichaar and Prem.

The work at SAEF is focused on empowering and catalyzing the conversation about Indian Americans in order to develop a strong brand for the Indian American community.
A digital mural commemorating 75 years of Indian democracy, a National STEM competition, an Indian Edition Smorgasbord, and an All-American Holi at Governors Island, NY are among the future plans to attain this goal.
The South Asian Engagement Foundation owns the trademark and copyright to All American Diwali.

SAEF’s objective is to promote leadership potential in Indian American communities through educational activities and civic engagements. SAEF supports programs such as the South Asian Spelling Bee and the Cricket Bee, among others.
