The San Diego-California Highway Patrol is investigating after a pedestrian was beaten and killed on Interstate 805 early Thursday.
According to the CHP, police officers were summoned to Southbound 805 on State Highway 94 at 1:20 am and found a pedestrian sentenced to death at the crash site.
According to a CHP investigation, the five lanes to the right of 805 South were closed for several hours. Officials said a toxicology report from a San Diego County coroner would determine if alcohol or drugs were the cause of the crash.
The person killed has not yet been identified and no other details regarding the driver have been released.
