As the Tokyo Summer Olympics begins, some 30 senior athletes from Belmont Village Senior Living’s Albany, Sunnyvale and San Jose locations gathered in Albany to compete in a seated volleyball tournament and an amazing race relay.

The first Belmont Village Senior Living Olympics kicked off with a rousing opening ceremony as teams made their way into the town hall room to cheers and applause. Then athletes and spectators warmed up with yoga and stretching sessions before the start of competition.

The day was scheduled to wrap up with a medal ceremony and time for goodbyes.
