Qatar has made it illegal to sell alcohol in the FIFA World Cup 2022 stadiums. The alcohol will only be sold in the hospitality boxes and in the fan areas after 7pm. A 500ml Budweiser will cost 50 riyals, which is about $14.
“After talks between the authorities of the host country and FIFA, the decision has been made to sell alcohol only at the FIFA Fan Festival, other fan destinations, and licensed venues, and to get rid of beer stands around the Qatar World Cup 2022 stadiums,” FIFA said in an official statement. “This has no effect on the sale of Bud Zero, which will still be available in all Qatar World Cup stadiums,” the statement said.
But the ban on alcohol is not the only thing that is scary about the FIFA World Cup in Qatar in 2022. There have been many scandals and controversies as well.
1. No to pork
Pork isn’t allowed at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, so there won’t be any food made with pork. No ham, bacon, sausages, etc., will be served. The only meat that will be served is halal meat.
2. Modest dress
Viewers will need to dress modestly and make sure their shoulders and knees are covered.
3. Shirts couldn’t be taken off
During the games of the FIFA World Cup 2022, people who go to the stadiums will not be able to “take off their clothes or stay naked.” This was written in the notice given to people who bought tickets.
4. Forbidden to live as a couple
If you and your partner are not married and are going to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, you will not be able to stay in the same hotel room: “Sex is not on the menu at all, unless you are a married couple. The Daily Star said that Qatari police said there would be no one-night stands at the tournament. Also, sex toys are against the law.
5. Same-sex couples are prohibited

Qatar is a very conservative country, so it’s not a surprise that an LGBTTTIQ+ pride flag can’t be flown at the 2022 Qatar World Cup.
8. No holy books
Qatar is a very religious country, so visitors are not allowed to bring any religious books with them.
