San Francisco Mayor London Breed Launches New Initiative To Reduce Crime In The City

San Francisco Mayor London Breed has announced a new initiative to reduce crime in the city. As per the initiative, people will be rewarded with cash if they provide information leading to the conviction of criminals involved in vehicle smash-and-grabs. The cash for the reward is being privately funded and aims to reduce crime in San Francisco. Moreover, Breed said, “The frequent auto burglaries in San Francisco are not victimless crimes, they have real financial and emotional consequences for the victims and we’re continuing to work to hold people who commit these crimes accountable.”

Auto-Burglaries Reducing In San Francisco Due To Initiatives By Mayor London Breed

Breed has been going formed with community-based programs to reduce crime in San Francisco. Interestingly, it has been effective in reducing auto-burglaries in the city by an astounding 37 percent. Breed also highlighted the same while launching her new initiative. She said, “These break-ins hurt our residents, especially working families who do not have the time or money to deal with the effects, as well as visitors to our City whose experiences are too often tarnished after an otherwise positive experience. We’ve made good progress in recent months since announcing our Tourism Deployment Plan, but there’s still more work to do to ensure that everyone feels safe on our streets.”

London Breed Thanks Private Sector For Funding The New Initiative

Private companies have stepped up this time to increase safety in San Francisco and Mayor Breed thanked the companies for their support. She said, “I want to thank our partners in the private sector who understand the urgency of this issue, and we want to be very clear to the organized groups who are responsible for the vast majority of these crimes that we are committing the resources and the manpower to hold you accountable.”
