Carpet cleaning vans were reported stolen in the Torrance area. The suspect fled 110 north and left the streets of downtown Los Angeles.
The van stopped several times, and the suspect appeared to be gesturing with both hands to the police. But then every time he resumed tracking.
At some point he returned to 110 northbound and continued to be tracked towards the Pasadena region with relatively light traffic.
He went out on the streets of the Pasadena area and continued to escape at a moderate speed.
At some point, it seemed that the police were trying to perform a PIT operation, but they were able to wipe the vehicle slightly to the side.
After a while, one of the van’s tires looked flat, but the suspect continued to flee and eventually boarded the 210 highway to the east.
A few minutes later at 210, the van slowed down, but continued to drive beside the freeway at 10 mph while police were chasing behind him.
Finally, the vehicle hit several signs on the side of the highway and knocked them down. After that, the van hit a guardrail and stopped in the Altadena district. It seems that the driver may have lost control of the steering and brakes.
The driver then came out of the van and obeyed the order to lie on the ground with his hands behind.
The chase lasted more than an hour.
