Taco Bell facing food shortage, running out of ingredients

Taco Bell warns that some of the customer’s favorite items may not be available.

The chain apologized on its website on Tuesday, saying that Taco Bell’s location may be out of some options due to “national raw material shortages and delayed deliveries.”

“We apologize for the inconvenience and hope to soon re-satisfy our fans’ current thirst for Taco Bell,” Taco Bell said in a statement to CNN Business. It is not specified which menu item or city was affected.

Taco Bell is the latest restaurant chain affected by the global supply chain disruption that is spreading throughout the industry. Fast food chains have been hit particularly hard in recent months by labor shortages and lack of stock of some key ingredients.

Chick-fil-A has recently limited the number of sources it can offer to its customers due to limited inventory. Starbucks also apologized to customers for the loss of some items, including oat milk.

Taco Bell is owned by Yum! Brands. CEO David Gibbs said in a statement in April that supply chain issues are also a problem for sister restaurant KFC, which is struggling to keep up with strong consumers in demand for new chicken sandwiches.
