Twitter is taking shopping seriously.
The company debuted a trial version of an in-app shopping module in June. Users will now be able to shop while viewing a Livestream.
Live Shopping is a function that allows you to check out and buy things while watching a Livestream. It allows you to toggle between the shopping tab and the Livestream, and you may watch the stream while making a purchase on the third-party merchant’s website.
The new feature is being tested in partnership with Walmart. On Nov. 28, at 7 p.m. ET, the inaugural Live Shopping webcast will go live, starring Jason Derulo, who will host a 30-minute presentation highlighting a variety of products that fans will be able to purchase right then and there.
Twitter also announced that its Shop Module would be expanded to more merchants in the United States “in the coming weeks.” Finally, the business is introducing the Twitter Shopping Manager, which will give merchants more control over how their products are displayed on Twitter.
