Wendy Williams Reveals She Loves Her Career More Than Cocaine

Wendy Williams has always been open about her personal life. Moreover, she has always admitted that she was once into drugs like cocaine. However, she eventually stopped it and took the call to move away from a drug-free life. Moreover, she said, “I had a big career, and I didn’t want a splashy headline where I had to take off for a month to go to some rehab. I stopped because I wanted to. Didn’t even know that I had the strength within me, but I love me and my career more than I loved cocaine.”

Wendy Williams And Her History Of Cocaine Addiction

In 2019, Wendy Williams opened up about her struggle with cocaine. Moreover, it was at a time when she working in the radio. Cocaine was cheap for her as she was making enough money. She was drugged most of the time and that did not stop her. Furthermore, she said, “I was making $60,000 a year, and at $35 a gram, cocaine was cheap. I was a young Jersey girl turning the city upside down. I wanted to live on the edge.”

Radio Company Did Not Fire Wendy Williams As She Brought Ratings

Wendy had become complacent with her radio job and she came to the office after doing drugs. She was not afraid of her bosses who knew about her cocaine addiction. This was because she brought ratings for the company and they did not dare to fire her. Moreover, she said, “I would report to work on time and I walked in and all of my coworkers, and including my bosses, would know but instead of firing me, you see, I would grab my headphones and arrogantly walk into the studio and dare them to fire me because I was making ratings.”
